Hero var.

Yoga term: Virasana

This is a variation of the classic Hero pose of Yoga. Typically the knees are together. When practiced in this way it gives a greater stretch to the groin muscles where they attach to the inside front of the iliac crests. This can be a tough pose if this area is very tight. As you can see it is for me. I cannot bring my butt to the floor. In this case use the arms to support and lighten the weigh of the body on the stretch. For another variation the hands can be placed behind you and the hips pushed forward. This can be tough on the knees so be very careful not to put too much pressure on them.
